KEO Investigations professional investigative work

The principal’s background

25 years of investigative experience.

More than 40,000 hours of surveillance experience, with assignments undertaken across Australia and internationally.

KEO’s principal is a licensed private investigator with 25 years of experience in surveillance, fraud investigations and field enquiries.

Assignments have been undertaken across Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region, including Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. Further international work has included the United States, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.

In 2009, the principal was involved in a successful kidnapping recovery assignment in Egypt, which resulted in an Australian girl being recovered and returned to Australia.

Fraud and financial investigations

Examine the loss, the transactions and the parties involved.

The principal’s experience includes complex investment fraud and online scam investigations, examination of banking and corporate records, and enquiries into the people and entities connected to financial losses.

Investigative work follows recorded transactions, company structures and relevant business relationships. Documentary findings are assessed alongside digital research and field enquiries to develop an account of how the matter unfolded.

Reporting sets out the chronology, identifies the parties and explains the evidence supporting the findings. This provides clients and their legal representatives with a factual record for assessing further action.

Parallel investigations

Experience alongside law enforcement enquiries.

KEO’s principal has also assisted with investigations conducted in parallel with law enforcement enquiries in Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Cambodia, Malaysia, the United States and Egypt.

This experience forms part of the principal’s background in matters involving several jurisdictions, financial records and field enquiries.

Our approach

Examine the concern. Follow the evidence.

A personal concern and a commercial dispute require different enquiries. The work is organised around the circumstances of the assignment and the information available.

Defined instructions

The initial discussion establishes the objective, relevant parties and records already held. Proposed enquiries, costs and reporting arrangements are discussed before work begins.

Connected enquiries

Field observations, document examination and digital research are brought together where the matter requires them. Findings guide further enquiries, with changes to scope or cost discussed with the client.

Factual reporting

Reports explain the sequence of events, the enquiries undertaken and the records supporting each finding. Information supplied by others is distinguished from observations and documentary evidence.

Scope the work in each location.

KEO undertakes Australian and cross-border assignments, with overseas investigators or specialist contractors engaged where required for the task.

Available records, local requirements and operational arrangements are assessed when defining the work. Where a solicitor is involved, instructions and reporting needs can be coordinated with the client’s authorisation.

International information handling is addressed in the Privacy Policy .
